Recent discoveries

I've had a productive month making the most of a short Find My Past subscription to see if I could fill in any missing gaps in some of our ancestors' histories. Here's a brief list of some highlights:

• Fred Peers' baptism date and location - St James, Tredegar, on 23rd July, 1905.
• Henry Hirons - record of admission at boarding school in Pontypridd, 1898 (lots of detail here!)
• Frederick Peers (b1874) - his baptism (28 Mar 1874), trades union membership (1891-5) and emigration record (1906)

In my next post, I shall do a biography of Frederick Peers (1874) - he was granddad Peers' uncle and went off to the US in 1906 where he sadly died in 1909. Despite his short life, he was one of the most documented ancestors I've ever found thanks in part to his lifetime's employment on the railways, primarily as a boiler engineer.
